SUPERNOVA is an upcoming six-member co-ed global pop group formed through Planet Supernova: The Academy, an independent artist development and competition program founded in early 2025 by label owner and creative director Jaeigh Gallagher.Built entirely on a self-funded indie budget, Planet Supernova was created with one goal in mind: to build a global group differently. Rooted in ethical artist development, diversity, transparency, and creative individuality, the program was designed as an alternative to the increasingly criticized systems often seen within the modern music industry.

Originally, Gallagher intended to debut as the center of the group themselves. However, after becoming paraplegic in 2024, those plans were unexpectedly changed. Rather than abandoning the dream entirely, they chose to rebuild it into something larger than themselves: an opportunity for others to pursue the dreams they still had ahead of them. That idea became SUPERNOVA. Named after the cosmic explosion of a dying star, SUPERNOVA represents transformation, resilience, rebirth, and impact. Just as a supernova lights up the universe in a massive burst of energy, the group aims to enter the industry loudly, fearlessly, and unapologetically different.

Unlike many globally marketed pop groups, SUPERNOVA was built from the ground up with intentional diversity and inclusion at its core. The project prioritizes authentic representation across race, gender identity, culture, artistry, and individuality rather than treating diversity as a marketing accessory.The online portion of Planet Supernova: The Academy began in early 2025 and quickly exceeded expectations, receiving nearly 1,000 submissions from aspiring artists around the world.

Applicants were narrowed down to 200 official trainees, then 60 contestants, and now only 26 remain in the final quarter of the online program. In June 2026, the Top 10 trainees will be selected to advance to Pennsylvania for the program’s future in-person training phase. From there, the final six members of SUPERNOVA will ultimately be chosen during a live finale event.

Throughout the program, trainees have participated in vocal, dance, performance, teamwork, and artist development evaluations while building a growing online audience following the journey in real time. The project has gained attention for both its ambitious global scope and its deeply personal origin story. At its heart, Planet Supernova is more than a competition series. It is proof that even after devastation, dreams can evolve instead of disappear.
